$100 Million in Assets in First Six Months

Columbia, SC - BankMeridian, a full-service, relationship-driven bank focused on serving small and mid-size businesses and professionals, is pleased to announce it has reached more than $100 million in total assets after only six months in business - an achievement unparalleled in South Carolina banking history.

This is the second milestone for the bank, which opened in May 18th of this year, after raising more than $31.5 million in capital to become the largest de novo bank capitalization ever in South Carolina.

BankMeridian President and CEO Ashley Houser said the new milestone exceeded the company’s expectations. “We expected to reach this mark in our first year, but not in the first six months,” said Houser. “We are pleased that we have come this far in such a short time. This signals strong support for the high-touch, personalized service of our relationship banking business model. Our team of remarkable bankers, our board of directors, shareholders and our customers all deserve credit for this day.”

Bank Meridian currently has three locations in South Carolina. The bank is headquartered in its Columbia office at 1320 Main Street in the Meridian Building. The bank has a location at 32 Palmetto Bay Road on Hilton Head Island and a loan production office at 104 N. Daniel Morgan Avenue in Spartanburg.
